DDEG conducted AAMA 501.2 testing in accordance with the project facade consultant’s report. We conducted troubleshooting during our visit to help our client achieve compliance without the need for follow-up testing.
Façade testing involves assessing your building’s exterior for water and air leakage, structural integrity and compliance with relevant standards. It’s essential for protecting your asset, ensuring occupant comfort, and achieving regulatory approval.
We provide water leakage testing (AAMA 501.2), airtightness/blower door testing (ISO 9972, ATTMA TSL2), and performance-based airtightness and waterproofing assessments for new builds, refurbishments and recladding projects.
Passing the test on the first try can be tricky. With construction sites being as busy as they are, it is almost impossible to keep your subcontractors fully accountable. Get us on-site for early inspections. We can attend your site while your building is being wrapped, but before the cladding is installed, to identify defects early and prevent warranty claims later.
Weatherproofing testing should be conducted as soon as the external facade is water-tight, before the installation of internal linings such as plasterboard. We also recommend completing a prototype area of the façade to test and identify design flaws early in the project.
Airtightness testing is typically conducted at the end of construction, once all façade details and penetrations are complete, to assess how the entire building performs. Early-stage diagnostic testing can also be conducted.
